The technic team of the Valencia CF comes back to their faculty

The Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Science (FCAFE) of the Universitat de València has received with pride the visit of part of the technic team of the Valencia CF, that has given a signed official T-shirt of the first team. This symbolic gesture supposes a recognition to the training received from the professionals that today are part of the national football elite and that someday were, students of this faculty.

The current trainer of the Valencia CF,Carlos Corberán, the second trainers Jorge AlarcónandJosep Alcácer, the physical trainers Rafa ArandaandJuan Monar, and the sports therapist Jordi Sorlíhave studied in the FCAFE of the Universitat de València. What’s more Rafa Aranda, is a full professor in the faculty and responsible for the football subject, which reflects the permanent bond between university training and high level professional practice.

During the delivery of the T-shirt, the decanal team was present in the FCAFE, led by the Dean Ferran Calabuig Moreno, in an act that wanted to point out the value on the role of university training in the professional trajectory of those dedicated to the sports science field.


This meeting highlights the excellent work perspectives that the studies on Physical Activity and Sports Scienceoffer in the Universitat de València, that counts with a consolidated trajectory in the training of highly qualified professionals. Among their graduates there are other remarkable athletes and trainers such as Pedro de Matías, national coach of female rugby; Dídac Navarro, current physical trainer of the UAE Team; Álvaro Montesinos, gymnast and Olympic coach; Mónica Pont, Spanish record-holder of marathon or the Paralympic medallist Santiago Sanz (Sidney 2000 and Athens 2004) and Enrique Alhambra (Paris 2024), among many others.


The Universitat de València celebrates with pride the achievements of their graduates and reaffirms their compromise with an excellent training, oriented to the professional practice, research and service to the community.
