The Theatre Group of the UV and professor Manuel Cuadrado, awarded in the AVETID gala

ASSAIG, Theatre Group of the Universitat de València and professor Manuel Cuadrado from this University have been honoured on Monday 28 November, in the prize-giving ceremony organised by the Association of Companies of Performing Arts of the Valencian Country (by the Spanish acronym AVETID). The prize-giving ceremony took place in the Centre del Carme of València and in this edition it has the collaboration of the Museum Consortium of the Valencian Community.

Through these awards, AVETID claims the importance of performing arts as communicative tools and force for change, and in them it distinguishes professional attitudes and careers. 

Among the award-winners of this edition, two awards for the Universitat de València stand out. To ASSAIG, the Theatre Group of the Universitat de València, led by Pep Sanchis. The Theatre Group of the Universitat was born with the objective of doing theatre in Valencian and during its 25 years of training, research and promotion of performing arts, more than 1.000 students have walked its workshops or have take part in its more than 30 spectacles, some of them awarded with different prizes. Moreover, ASSAIG has been a platform for the professionalization of lots of interpreters and Valencian companies.

Manuel Cuadrado, professor of the Department of Marketing and Market Research of the UV, has been honoured with the Estimat Prize awarded by AVETID. This prize is awarded to the most noteworthy person or institution due to its altruistic appreciation for the Valencian world of theatre and circus.
