The publishing house Springer has released the English version of the book Iluminando la evolución humana. Ciento cincuenta años después de Darwin, published in 2021 by Publicacions de la Universitat de València-Unitat de Cultura Científica on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the work The Origin of Man by the English naturalist Charles Darwin. Juli Peretó, professor of Biochemistry at the University of Valencia, and Jaume Bertranpetit, professor of Biology at the Pompeu Fabra University, are the editors of the work Illuminating Human Evolution: 150 Years after Darwin.

This book, published in Spanish within the “Sin Fronteras” collection (Publicacions-UCC+i of the University of Valencia) brings together the contributions of more than twenty specialists from different views and outlooks on evolution – including Janet Bowne, Darwin’s official biographer –, which provides different views and current perspectives of human evolution from psychology, archaeology, linguistics, sexual selection or ethology. According to Juli Peretó, “a very complete overview of the diversity of approaches from which we currently study the evolution of humanity has been achieved”. The book will be available on October 8.

The translation of the book to Spanish Language was made from the articles published originally in the 71 volume of the scientific magazine Treballs de la Societat Catalana de Biologia. The book belongs to the series "Evolutionary Studies" from Springer, directed by the professor Naruya Saitou (National Institute of Genetics, Japan).
