The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation awards the best athletes of the UV
The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation Awards, which celebrate its 9th edition this year, aims to recognise university athletes who are able to successfully balance their academic and sports performance.

Every year, an award for the men’s category and another one for the women’s is granted to students of each one of the Valencian universities who stand out in both sports disciplines and their studies.
In this edition,Silvia Bautista Quiroga(basketball) andLuis Barroso López(judo), students of the Universitat de València, have been awarded for their outstanding performance in both areas. Both of them received 1 000 euros and a commemorative plaque as recognition for their effort and dedication.
ThTrinidad Alfonso Foundation, led by Juan Roig, continue to provide support to athletes of the eight universities of the ValencianCommunity through the projectUniEsport. This agreement is based on various fundamental pillars: first of all, it supports students who balance their high sports performance and their academic education; it also offers financial assistance to university students who participate in international competition; it focus in increasing visibility to theRegional University Sports Championship; and, finally, it pushes the brandComunitat de l’Esportthrough aids for the acquisition of sporting equipment.
