The students attended Chinese language classes taught by professors of the NENU in Changchun (Jilin, China). They were accommodated in a full-board university residence.  

The students had two language classes (90 minutes) every morning. They were divided in two study groups: entry-level and intermediate level students. The classes consisted in oral-based activities, reading and comprehension exercises. On the afternoon, they had a series of activities on Chinese culture including calligraphy, traditional painting, glass bead embroidery, paper-cutting, singing, tai chi or kung-fu. NENU professors were in charge of these activities.
Two trips were organised on the week-ends. The first trip was to the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. They hiked the Changbai Mountains, close to the Northern-Korean frontier. They also visited the famous museum of Korean culture and tradition in the capital of the autonomous prefecture, Yanji.

The second trip was to the Chinese capital, Beijing. They visited the main monuments of the so called Northern Capital. They also visited the Head Office of Hanban, which is the institution that coordinates all the Confucius Institutes in the world in order to promote Chinese language and culture.

ICUV is the second oldest Confucius Institute in Spain and is considered since 2015 a “model institute” by Hanban. It has been given several awards such as the Cultural Award of the Valencian Government in 2017. It was ranked as one of the best 20 Confucius Institutes (out of 525 in the world) in 2017, too. ICUV has published since July 2010 the bilingual cultural magazine “Instituto Confucio” (Spanish-Chinese) and manages its own Book Club that has over 33,000 followers in social media.
