Telecommuting is the modality of distance service delivery in which people can carry out their work outside the University’s premises, using information and communication technology, whenever the needs of the service permit it.

The regulation of work can be found in the development of the article 47 bis of the Basic Statute of Public Employees.

At the Universitat de València, this type of work can be enjoyed by administrative and service staff, both public worker and employees, who meet the characteristics set out in the regulations governing telecommuting at the UV and which were approved by the Governing Council, on the motion of the Executive Council and after a process of negotiation with the Negotiating Table on 1st February.

Since 8th January, effective date of telecommuting regulations, all people who occupy jobs that can be performed autonomously and remotely, can apply for this type of job up to two days a week, except in the cases specified in the regulations.

The different types of services provided in the university community make it essential to combine face-to-face work and telecommuting, ensuring in any case in-person attention to citizens.

Telecommuting regulations also establish the preference criteria in the assignment of teleworking days, prioritising women victims of gender violence, people with a disability degree of at least 33% entailing physical mobility limitations, and familiar reconciliation and joint responsibility.

Teleworking is voluntary and reversible and it must guarantee the conditions of labour risk preventions, privacy and data protection, as well as citizen service and the quality of the service provided.

Throughout this week, several meetings have taken place between the managerial team, the head of service and the centre and campus administrators, as integral part of the management team, to coordinate the implementation of this new working method.

Since 8th February the University PAS can apply for telecommuting under the conditions set out in the regulations, which can be checked on the University’s official website, following this link: https://links.uv.es/6QcDbiw
