The Universitat commemorates one more year the International Romani Day

On April 28th, the documentary ‘Referents. L’efecte multiplicador’ will be showed at the Faculty of Social Sciences. Since 2019, the Universitat de València has celebrated this day as part of the commitment to guarantee equal education to all people.

On April 8th 1971, the first World Romani Congress was held in London, establishing that day to raise awareness of the reality and history of the Romani culture and people.

The Universitat de València has celebrated, since 2019, this day to break stereotypes and draw attention to the experiences of Romani university students.

This year, the celebration will be held at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The documentary ‘Referents. L’efecte multiplicador’ (Models. The multiplying effect), an audiovisual project promoted by the chair of Romani Culture of the University of Alacant, will be shown on April 28th, at 6 PM, in the Magdalena López Precioso Hall of this Faculty.

The Universitat de València is working to break stereotypes and draw attention to the diversity of our university, promoting the positive law of equality of all people who make up the university community.

In this sense, this activity is part of the Diversitats programme of the Universitat de València, coordinated from the office of the Vice-Principal for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policies.
