The Universitat de València in the 9th annual meeting of the Xarxa de Serveis d’Atenció a Persones amb Discapacitat a la Universitat (SAPDU)

The Unitat per a la Integració de Persones amb Discapacitat (UPD) in the Universitat de València has participated in the 9th annual meeting of Xarxa de Serveis d’Atenció a Persones amb Discapacitat a la Universitat (SAPDU) (Catalan for ‘Assistance Service Network for Disabled People in University’), held in the University of Murcia on 18 and 19 October.

This year’s edition slogan was ‘Sharing resources, merging paths’. In this sense, Celeste Asensi Borrás, head of the Unitat de Persones amb Discapacitat, took part in the panel discussion “Formación específica en la atención a las necesidades específicas2, in which she was the moderator. Furthermore, Javier Roca, professor of the Developmental and Educational Psychology Department, gave a speech on dyslexia.

The Network ban been engaged in the fight for equal opportunities in higher education for over twenty years through different lines of work. Meetings, such as the one recently held in the University of Murcia, allow an exchange of the experiences on this labour in different countries, as well as which inner experiences of our network merit special attention, the technological innovations that may improve our work, and the improvements when operating.

Asensi has remembered that the Universitat de València leads disabled student’s assistance in Spain, having 1,706 students according to the 2017 Guide of Disability Assistance in University.
