The Universitat de València and Capgemini Spain sign an agreement to promote Innovation in Software Development

The Universitat de València and Capgemini Spain have established the Capgemini-UV Chair to promote Innovation, Agility and Quality in software development. The agreement, signed by M. Vicenta Mestre, Principal of the UV, and Luis Abad, CEO of Capgemini Spain, provides for training, research and university extension activities.

The Universitat de València and CapgeminiSpain have formalised a collaboration agreement to establish the Capgemini-UV Chair for Innovation in Software Development, which is an important step towards the promotion of innovation in the field of software development.

The signing of the agreement took place in the historic building of La Nau of the university and was attended by M. Vicenta Mestre, Principal of the Universitat de València, and Luis Abad, CEO of CapgeminiSpain, who were accompanied by José Rafael Magdalena, Director of the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV); Rosa Donat Beneito, Vice-Principal for Innovation and Transfer; Francisco Grimaldo, Director of the Capgemini-UV Chair; Manuel Cid García, Vice-President of Account Executive; and David Luengo Ruiz, Vice-President and Head of the Centro Capgemini in Valencia.

The main objective of this Chair is to generate advanced research that facilitates the integration between the academic and business worlds, promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of software development. To achieve this, several activities will be carried out, such as the development of Master's Thesis related to the subject matter of the Chair and the implementation of practical training programmes for university students. In addition, a prestigious Java-Devon Research Award will be established, open to the entire university community, including students, professors and administrative and service staff.

Capgemini will contribute to this initiative with a financial endowment of €291,000, which will be used to finance all the expenses necessary to carry out the activities planned within the framework of the Chair.

This collaboration between the Universitat de València and CapgeminiSpain promises to strengthen development and innovation in the field of software, promoting the training of future professionals and the generation of advanced knowledge in this key area of technology.
