The Pride Parade is celebrated on the 28 of June on the occasion of the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York (1969). The Universitat de València joins the celebration by raising the rainbow flag in its facilities.

The Universitat de València, by means of the programme diversities, aims to make visible and promote inclusion activities in the university community. In this sense, it intends to contribute to overcome any form of discrimination or stereotypes. This is the reason why the LGTB flag will wave in the Office of the Principal, the Cultural Centre La Nau and the historic building of Ontinyent Campus. This action is promoted by the Vice-principal for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability.

For the first time, the libraries also celebrate diversity as they have raised the rainbow flag in the Library of Sciences Eduard Boscà (Burjassot), the Library of Humanities Joan Reglà (Blasco Ibáñez) and the Library of Social Sciences Gregori Maians (Tarongers). Moreover, the last two libraries have organised an exhibition on the occasion of the Pride Parade month. It is formed by a collection of books coming from the bibliographic fund that addresses affective-sexual and gender diversity.

Stickers with the colours of the LGBT flag will be distributed so that they can be affixed to the doors of the centres and faculties in order to make visible the defence of rights and freedoms. In this way, the Universitat de València joins the actions that the City Council of Valencia and several associations, such as Lambda, have organised to celebrate the Pride Parade.
