This 2024, the UV has made significant progress in comparison to the previous year, moving up one position in the European ranking and establishing itself as the fourth most prominent university in Spain. The UV has as well improved its global position, going from position 228 in 2023 to 225 in 2024.

The Technological Institute of Massachusetts and the universities of Harvard and Stanford lead the global Top 10. At the European level, the University of Cambridge, the University College London and the ETH Zurich are on the top of this classification.

In the national context, UniRank highlights the University of Barcelona as the most influential institution online, followed by the Complutense University of Madrid and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The Universitat de València is in fourth position in Spain, with the next Valencian entity being Universitat Politècnica de València, in ninth place among 76 public and private Spanish universities.

In addition to assessing online presence, UniRank has also analysed the impact of universities on social media, taking into consideration the amount of followers and interaction on platforms such as Facebook, X and Instagram. Within the national scene, the Universitat de València is ranked 11th on Facebook, 7th on X and 16th on Instagram.

UniRank™ is a leading international ranking portal that bases its classification on an algorithm that includes impartial web metrics provided by independent web intelligence sources rather than self-reported data by academic institutions. Their objective is to create a global university ranking according to online presence and popularity in terms of estimated traffic, quality links, trust and authority of the domain.

It should be noted that in order to be included in the UniRank database, a university must have the corresponding official accreditation in its country, offer at least four years of undergraduate and/or postgraduate studies, and provide courses in a traditional on-site format rather than distance learning.
