The principal of the Universitat de València, María Vicenta Mestre, and the vice-president of the Fundació Per Amor a l’Art (FPAA), Susana Lloret, have signed a framework collaboration agreement today, 6 October, in the Boardroom of the historic La Nau building, in order to develop and expand the relationship between both institutions. The vice-principal for Cultura i Esport of the Universitat, Ester Alba, and the director of the Servei de Cultura Universitària, Adela Cortijo, have also attended this event.

The aim of this framework agreement is to establish ways for conducting dissemination, training and research activities together. Some examples of these are promoting seminars, lectures and courses; going further into the training between both institutions; developing and disseminating research; fostering the schedule of activities of the Universitat de València; giving a boost to voluntary work; carrying out academic extern internship in the FPAA for university students; stimulating the communication of activities from the FPAA and its Bombas Gens Centre d'Art among the university community, and organising institutional visits to the FPAA for the university teaching staff.

In her speech, the principal has underlined the important task performed by the FPAA both in the cultural and social aspect. Thus, for the principal of the UV “an example of this is the effort to recover the industrial historic heritage carried out by rehabilitating the building of the old factory Bombes Gens as well as its activity and, prominently, its structured role in the borough where this iconic building of the industrial heritage of València is located”.

On the other hand, the vice-president of the Fundació Per Amor a l'Art has added that “I find this agreement special for two reasons. The first is due to the long relationship I mantained with the university from the Faculty of Psychology as a tenured professor of Psychometrics, a very important period of my life which I remember with great affection. The second, because once more we start up what I consider the hallmark of this foundation, which is sharing intelligently. This means collaborating and coordinating with other institutions and organisations such as the UV, in order to reach more people with better results. Networking is the key”.

For developing this framework agreement, which will last four years, the corresponding specific arrangements will be settled, collecting the precise projects or action programmes in which, in any case, the suggested objectives, the work programme, the necessary means and the contributions from each party to carry them out will be determined.

In addition, both parties, in accordance, will form a mixed commission with parity of representation whose functions will be the programming, monitoring and assessment of the activities derived from this agreement.
