Third edition of the O-Pre Conferences

The Divina Pastora Chair for the Adapted Sport of the Universitat de València (CDPDAUV) organises on 2 and 3 December the third edition of the workshop and initiation conferences to the organisation of tests for sports precision orientation: O-Precision.

The workshop, which will take place on Friday 2 in the morning, is addressed to students who are interested on the promotion and/or enjoyment of the physical-sport activities that are carried out in the natural environment, as well as to the teaching and technical staff, specialists and people interested on this training. With this workshop, CDPDAUV aims to make the discipline of orientation known to everyone that registers. The assembly hall of the Geography and History of the Universitat de València will host the students and José Campos, director of the CDPDAUV, will open the conference. Then, Joaquim Margarido and Niclas Gil will explain the basic principles and objectives of the preparation and development of the test and, once finished the theoretical session, they will move to Viveros gardens to carry out the practice session.

The conferences are structured on two days, Friday 2 December in the evening and Saturday 3. Unlike the workshop, the conferences will be addressed to the teaching staff of physical-sport activities, to the teaching staff of the physical education subject, coaches of sports’ modalities related to the natural environment, specialists, people interested on this training and specifically to orientation coaches, interested in the training of trainers. The CDPDAUV aims not only to make the orientation discipline known, as it will do in the Friday’s workshop, but also to train the technical staff in the design, planning and organisation of the O-Precision tests.
The conferences will take place at the Aulari V and, same as the workshop, and will start with an opening act by José Campos and a theoretical session by Joaquim Margarido (member of the Technical Committee for Orientation Precision of the Orientation Portuguese Federation), Niclas Gil (responsible of the section of orientation of the Universitat de València), José Antonio Tamarit and Ana Belén Calvo (second-level Orientation coaches). Saturday will start with a theoretical session and then the participants will move to the place of the practice. The conference will finish with a theoretical session in the evening, the closing of the conferences and the delivery of certificates.

With these conferences and workshop, the CDPDAUV expands its training programme with the objective of promoting and fostering the study of adapted sports.
