The Universitat de València is proclaimed Spanish runner-up in Swimming and padel

The Universitat de València adds two Spanish second places to its track record: swimming and padel. However, the university was not classified in the University Spanish Championships of Sailing and Indoor Football. Taekwondo team is preparing to compete in the last competition of the season on 18 and 19 at Los Alcázares de Murcia.

Swimming started in Jaén on 8 and 9 May and medals were obtained. During the first day, the University got a gold medal in men’s 200 meter backstroke, and a bronze medal in women’s 100 meter medley swimming and 4 × 100 mixed medley relay. On the second day of the competition, both male and female UV teams were proclaimed runners-up of the competition.

The padel team obtained the same title and competed in the national championship in Jaén from 7 to 10 May. Women’s team obtained the silver medal, while men’s team won the bronze medal. They were runners-up in the team competition.

University championship of sailing and adapted sailing 2018
The Universitat de València hosted once again the Spanish University Championship of Sailing and Adapted Sailing. It took place from 6 to 9 May in the facilities of the Calpe Royal Sailing Club (Alacant). Twelve Spanish universities competed for four days. The first day consisted in a technical testing session. Then, two days of regattas followed. Finally, the best sailing boats of the Gold League and the Silver League were chosen.

The Universidad de La Coruña obtained the gold medal, the Universidad de Vigo won the Silver medal and the Politècnica de Catalunya got the bronze medal. You can check all the results in the official webpage of the competition.

In addition, the Royal Spanish Federation of Sailing announced in Calpe that Spain would join the World Championship alongside with the other two best classifieds in Gold League.

The CEU of Sailing and Adapted Sailing of the Universitat de València has been organised by the Universidad de Valencia through the Service of Physical Education and Sport (SEF) and the Spanish Committee of University Sports. It has counted with the collaboration of the Calpe Royal Sailing Club, the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community, the City Council of Calpe, the Divina Pastora Chair of Adapted Sports of the Universitat de València, Provincial Government of Valencia, the Valencian Government and the Federation of Adapted Sport of the Valencian Community (FESA).
