The Universitat de València reaches the autonomic finals

The Universitat de València came back with seven victories of the fifth CADU session, competed the last 28 February againt the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) de Castelló. That means that the UV will play the finals of the Regional University Sports Championship, next 8 March, in 10 of 12 confrontations in teams, besides tennis and paddle.

The final will be played in the teams of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, men's and women's rugby, men's football, women's CP football, women's handball and men's futsal, plus tennis and paddle teams in all categories (female, male and mixed) after winning last Tuesday to the Castelló two to one in both modalities.

With these excellent results, the UV will organise and receive the finals during the whole Wednesday in four different locations. The matches will be competed in the Blasco Ibañez and Tarongers Campus, in the rugby ground of the channel of the river Turia and in the Pavelló of the Malvarrosa.

The fifth session
The basketball selections succeeded also this time, and as a visitors. The visitant teams imposed themselves with high markers: 38-83 men’s team and 20-103 women’s team. In volleyball, both men and women won 3-0.

The players of football were not so great, who tied with the UJI due to an ill-fated foul towards the end of the second half. However, the 2-2 was enough to put the boys of the Universitat de València in the autonomic finals. 

The final in handball was also a fierce competition. The women’s team of Sagrario Santana reached finally the victory with a close 28-28, while the men’s team had to shape with 29-32, putting them out of the competition of 8 March.

In futsal, however, the men’s team was the one classifying with 2-4. The women’s team, although by scratch, lost by 4-3.
