These workshops, organised by Equality Unit and Lifelong Learning and Educational Innovation Service, are offered to all Professors of the Universitat de València, of any field of knowledge, who want to get experience training about how innovate in their classes adding the gender perspective. Also, they supposed to be a reflexive process that affects to the content taught, the focus of the subject, the examples, the language used, the selected bibliography sources, the evaluation method and the management of the learning environment.

At European, national and regional level, there has been an increase in actions to incorporate the gender perspective into the two main key processes of universities: teaching and research.

In that line, the Xarxa Vives, of which the Universitat de València forms part, has promoted the preparation of a series of guides that help university teaching staff to undertake this important task. The collection: “Guías para una docencia universitaria con perspectiva de género” (Guides for university teaching with a gender perspective) currently has a total of 11 thematic guides: Computer Science, Law and Criminology, Teaching and Pedagogy, Philology and Linguistics, Philosophy, Physics, History, History of Art, Medicine, Psychology and, finally, Sociology, Economics and Political Sciences; and 6 others are in the process of elaboration: Nursing, Mathematics, Architecture, Communication, Anthropology and Industrial Engineering.

Sonia Reverter Bañón, doctor in Philosophy, Tenured University Professor of Philosophy and Sociology of the Universitat Jaume I and the current Director of Instituto Universitario de Estudios Feministas y de Género Purificación Escribano (University Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies Purificación Escribano) gave the first teaching session focused on the philosophic reflection field. The patriarchal conception of the human being has implied a biased vision of what we are as humans, of what reality and knowledge are. The consequence has been an interpretation centred mainly on a rationality obsessed by domination, by selfish interest and by productivity (increasingly entente from an absolutely mercantilist point of view).

On November 5th is scheduled the training in Medicine and also Pedagogy, the 13th of November Law and Criminology, the November 27th Sociology, Politics and Economy, the 28th of November Philology and Linguistics, the 29th of November History of Art. On December 9th, Physics and on January, Psychology.
