The event will start at 8 a.m. at the Echegaray Theatre. There will be a public exhibition addressing the University Gymnaestrada, in which all the education community of Ontinyent participated (primary schools, high schools and the Faculty itself).

The town councillor for sports, Óscar Borrell, explained that the Universitat de València has been a key element for the promotion of physical activity in the town because of different reasons. One of the most important was the joint efforts of several public institutions that allowed great investments in the sports facilities of the town and the new laboratories of the university campus.

Another motive that was argued by the Council for Sports was including female students in the sports clubs of Ontinyent. Several internships are being carried out in the clubs of the town and some research bachelor’s degree final projects address them, particularly the Cycling Club of Ontinyent.  Some clubs have largely improve their quality as the students have played in senior teams and train in clubs such as Martínez Valls (basketball) and the Volleyball Club of Ontinyent.
