The Universitat is invited by the Senate to the commemoration ceremonies for the Holocaust Remembrance Day

The Faculty of Geography and History of the Universitat de València has been invited for the second year in a row to the commemoration ceremony of the Official Day of Holocaust Remembrance and Prevention of Crimes against Humanity. The dean of this Faculty, Ester Alba, and the co-director of the Democratic History and Memory Club of the Universitat, Marc Baldó, will attend on behalf of the centre. The ceremony takes place today, Monday 30 January, at 13:00 in the old Senate’s Assembly Hall.

In addition, the deanship of the faculty has congratulate the CEFIRE of Valencia, which will light one of the six candles in this moving ceremony in the memory of the more than six million people who were killed by the Nazis. Spain celebrates the Official Day of Holocaust Remembrance and Prevention of Crimes against Humanity since 2005. This year, 72 years will have passed since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
