The University celebrates Lesbian Awareness Day
The University of Valencia celebrates once again the 26th of April, Lesbian Visibility Day. This celebration was born in 2008 as a result of the struggle of the LGTBIQ+ collective for the recognition of equal rights and opportunities for lesbians.
From the initiative diversity of the University of Valencia, promoted by the Vice-rectorate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies, works for equality in diversity in a broad sense and for the integration of all people. Thus, the recognition of the realities and rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective is promoted through the commemoration of the most relevant days.
For this reason diversity, organises training and awareness-raising activities, such as the conference given by June Fernández in 2021, where several projects promoted by lesbian feminists from different branches of knowledge and culture were presented..
