The university community has expressed its condolences to the family of Helena Veslos and to all the victims of these violent acts.  It also expressed, once again, the rejection by the Universitat de València of these sexist violence, calling for the unity of society as a whole and for the unanimous commitment and efficiency of the public authorities to actively fight against this feminicide with profound social implications.

In the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, Helena Veslos, 44, was murdered by her ex-partner in Dènia (Marina Alta) Forty-nine women have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners in Spain between January 1st and October 22nd of this year, a number that surpasses the 48 women murdered in all of 2018. In less than 72 hours Silvia Contreras, 40 years old in La Zubia (Granada); Evelyn N., 25 years old, in Vic (Barcelona); and Helena Veslos, 44 years old, in Dènia (València) have been murdered.
