The University, first in volume of results in the Valencian Community and third in Spain according to the U-Ranking

The Universitat de València is first place in volume of results in the ValencianCommunity and third from the Spanish universities, according to the published data this month of June 2025, in the U-Rankingelaborated by BBVA Foundation and the IVIE. In total 72 universities have been analysed, from which 48 were public and 24 private.

The U-Ranking orders Spanish universities according to the total volume of results (considering the combined effect of the variables results and size), and also based on performance.On 2025, U-Ranking has released a new methodology, with which the index is now marked over 100 (being 100 the highest mark).

Data per indicator

The ranking also breaks down data per indicator, analysing teaching, research and innovation and, this year, as novelty, work insertion. This way, in results volume, the Universitat de València obtains a punctuation of 79 in teaching, 83 in work insertion, and 81 in research and innovation. As for performance, their punctuation is 86 in teaching, 83 in work insertion, and 74 in research and innovation.

The University, leader in Social and Legal Sciences

This year the U-Ranking also breaks down the results of the universities for five branches of education: Arts and Humanities; Social and Legal Sciences, Sciences, Engineering and Architecture and Health Sciences. The results show that the Universitat de València is leader in Social and Legal Sciences, along with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and is the third best positioned in Spain in Health.

The project U-Ranking is an initiative by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE), which comprehends a group of Synthetic Indicators of the Spanish University System (ISSUE), forwarded to heads and specialists in superior education, students and vocational counsellors. It is a non-profit project to analyse the Spanish university system and the results of the current study correspond to the 13th edition.
