The University and ‘La Caixa’ Foundation renew their commitment to employability

The agreement is defined in the support of the entity to the programme MOTIVEM, a pioneering initiative in the Spanish university scheme.

The encouragement of employability of recent graduates is the objective of the collaboration agreement that the Universitat de València, its University-Buisiness Foundation ADEIT and the 'la Caixa Foundation'.

The signing of the MOTIVEM programme has been done at the Office of the Principal. Rector Mª Vicenta Mestre has been part present in the event, along with Juan Manuel Pérez Mira, president of the University–Business Foundation of the University of Valencia, Francisco Cost, Valencian regional director of CaixaBank, Adela Valero, vice-principal for Employment and Training Programmes, and Antonio Aracil, ADEIT manager.

Rector Mª Vicenta Mestre has pointed out the consolidation of the MOTIVEM programme not only at national level but “at a European level, where we are an example of best practices.” “MOTIVEM is still one of the strategical lines in the University, the graduates’ employability in many fields of knowledge.”

To these words, regional director Francisco Costa has remarked that “programmes as this one prove that there is an efficient collaboration between the public and private industry”. Costa also stated that “concepts such as entrepreneurship and employability, which are given on MOTIVEM, are essential for ‘La Caixa’ Foundation.”

‘La Caixa’ Foundation will work along with MOTIVEM programme through the agreement. It is a pioneering initiative in the Spanish university sector developed by the UV through ADEIT Foundation. The main objective of the programme is to support professors’ effort so that can students bring up their creativity by coordinating the development of ideas in team. 420 teams made up of 296 professors and 1585 students have taken part in the four editions of the programme.  

The activities on the agreement between the Universitat de València, the ADEIT Foundation, and ‘la Caixa’ Foundation are essentially training activities to encourage entrepreneurship so that graduate students are more easily recruited and can start their own initiatives in companies and institutions.
