The University projects on Tuesday a documentary that shows the leading figure of María Moliner, author of the “Diccionario de uso del español”

The Equality Unit and the Libraries and Documentation Service of the Universitat de València performs in Valencia this Tuesday 15th May the documentary ‘Tendiendo palabras’ about the life of María Moliner, author of the ‘Diccionario de uso del español’. The presentation of the documentary will be around 19:15h at the historical building of La Nau with the presence of its director, the filmmaker Vicky Calavia.

The documentary has received several international awards as the Audience Award of the International Festival Buñuel-Calanda and the Prize Best Documentary Distinguished in the festival 12MFF of Romania.

The documentary is focused on the leading figure of María Moliner with the aim of showing different facets of a woman implicated in her work and a fascinating life dedicated to the vocation and the love for language as communication and comprehension tool of the other, the world and every people.

After the analysis of the movie, there will be a colloquium with Vicky Calavia, director of the documentary; Paqui Méndez, director of the international contest Cortos por la Igualdad; and Victoria García, director of the Libraries and Documentation Service of the Universitat de València. The University will provide information about the pass of María Moliner by the Universitat de València, where she was the first female director of the library of the academic institution from 1936 to 1937.
