Students of the University of Valencia can now access the call to participate in the second edition of UVemprén Rural: a rural, active and sustainable entrepreneurship programme organised by the Office of the Vice-principal for Employment and Training Services of the University of Valencia and the Provincial Council of Valencia (Diputació de València), in collaboration with Divalterra, CEEI València, the Aula Empresocial of the University of Valencia and the Provincial Council of Valencia, the Asociación de Emprendedores Rurales (AER) and ADEIT.

UVemprén Rural is an intensive training programme in entrepreneurship whose main objective is to select the best entrepreneurial initiatives and business ideas that can be applied to rural areas and which are in line with the sustainable development goals and targets set out in the SDG 2030.

Students with an innovative project or idea can choose their internship placement among the available entities and companies. If they cannot find a suitable internship for their academic profile, they can search for and select the host company or institution from among those who meet the requirement of being located in a town with a population of under 3,000 and put them forward in their application as their internship placement.

To this end, the programme involves the participation of companies, town councils, associations of municipalities and the Provincial Council of Valencia itself, which offer to host students to carry out their internships in towns with less than 3,000 inhabitants and at risk of depopulation. To participate in UVemprén Rural, students must be enrolled in an official undergraduate degree, master’s degree or doctorate of the University of Valencia and meet the specific requirements of their studies to carry out an internship, as well as not having an employment or service contract with the company or entity that offers the internship and not being registered in the town they’re placed.

The programme offers grants of 1,000 euros per month for internships lasting a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months. Moreover, it will also fund a certificate in innovative entrepreneurship techniques in rural environments. The deadline for applications will remain open until next May 10, 2021, and the list of companies and entities offering internship placements is available at this link.

All the information about the programme and instructions to fill out the application can be found here.
