2018/2019 Job Fair will be presented in the Faculty of Geography and History at 9.30 AM. It is organised by the Professional Insertion and Work Assessment Observatory (OPAL) and will include a new more dynamic format aimed to students in the receiving Faculty from now on.

The opening ceremony will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty and will be presided by Mª Adela Valero, vice-principal of Employment and Training Programmes in the Universitat de València. Josep Montesinos, dean of the Faculty; OPAL director Marisa Quintanilla; Rocío Briones, the Valencian Employment and Training CEO; and Julio Olmos, Sustainable Economy Section coordinator in Valencia City Council will be also present in the event.

A talk on the work carried out in an art centre will be given then at Bombas Gens Art Centre by Sonia Martínez, education coordinator, and Carlos Ángel Seguí, entity’s mediator.

In this sense, the University makes a bet for a more dynamic, open and relaxed format building a communication bridge among companies, institutions, and graduates and university students. “It is an ad hoc format for centres included in the renovation process that we have taken to transform OPAL in a more transversal service: UVWork”, OPAL director explained.   The new website provides then an increased intercommunication between students and the orienting and employability service.

15 companies and institutions will display their stands in the Fair and hundreds of historiography and art students interested in a labour market approaching, as well as in employment scholarships and offers are expected to come. Quintanilla declared that “a round table about the experience of some students abroad and entrepreneurship is included in the activities.”

The Job Fair will serve as a meeting space for students, and advisory companies and entities. It will also give an opportunity to start student’s professional future with experts, advisors, and people who best know the labour market. Briefly, it will be a meeting point for information exchange. All the activities will take place in the Assembly Hall and the different stands of companies and institutions will be available at the Faculty’s hall. Moreover, OPAL staff will give students the chance of revising their CVs and personal brands through express workshops. In addition, students of the Faculty have prepared a debate on future work prospects in Valencia in Palmierno Space at 6.00 PM.

The Fair will be taken to the Faculty of Pharmacy –at Burjassot-Paterna Campus– on the 5th of November.
