The University Senate will meet on Thursday

The Senate meeting, held in a mixed modality, can also be followed live via the Uvcommunication broadcast by the Audiovisual Workshop (TAU) of the University.

The University Senate, established in article 16 of the Constitutional Law of Universities (Ley Orgánica de Universidades), is the highest representative body of the university community. It is chaired by the Principal and comprised of the General Secretary, the General Manager and three-hundred members of the university community, distributed in accordance with the provisions of article 81.2 of the University Constitution.

The Senate is renewed every four years, with the exception of the student representation, which is re-elected every two years.

During the ordinary session held on March 9, the Governing Council of the University approved the total reelection of Senate, which will take place on Thursday, November 18, in accordance with this regulation.

Agenda of the Senate session of Thursday, March 11

Thursday's Senate meeting will begin, after approving the minutes of the previous session, with the report of the principal, Mª Vicenta Mestre.

This will be followed by the election of members of various governing bodies: one person representing the student members on the Senate Board, two Senate representatives for students on the Governing Council, and two administrative and service staff Senate representatives and one permanent doctoral teaching and research staff representative on the Constitutional Committee.

The Senate will also debate the University Ombuds Office report for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The meeting of this body of the University of Valencia will be held in a mixed modality (remotely, through the Virtual Classroom of the Senate, and in-person in accordance with the specifications approved by the Senate Board), implementing the measures to prevent COVID-19 expansion.
