The University of Valencia, fourth in Spain in three areas, according to the 2019 QS ranking by Subject

The University of Valencia ranked as the best Valencian university and fourth in Spain in the areas of Physics and Astronomy, Accounting and Finance, and Statistics and Operational Research, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject, a ranking that highlights the best universities of the world by areas and that is based on indicators such as academic and employer reputation, citations and the H Index.

This institution is also the fifth in the country in Life Sciences and Medicine, Biology and in Natural Sciences, Business and Administration, and Chemistry, the sixth in Pharmacy and Pharmacology, Agriculture and Forestry, Education, Chemical Engineering and Psychology. In the Valencian area, the University is the best Valencian centre in 4 out of the 5 classified branches: Arts and Humanities; Natural Sciences, Life Sciences and Medicine and Social Sciences and Administration. And also the best Valencian university in the subjects of Law, Economics and Econometrics, and Modern Languages.

At the international level, the University of Valencia stands out in the range [101-150] of the best institutions of higher education in Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, having improved its position with respect to last year. In addition, it is among the 200 best in the world in Natural Sciences, Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Accounting and Finance, as well as in Statistics and Operational Research.

In total, the Valencian centre is classified in 5 branches and 20 subjects, and has also improved in the area of Life Sciences and Medicine where it has climbed 8 positions. In this edition, the QS World University Rankings by Subject includes a total of 48 disciplines or subjects (specific subject) and 5 fields (broad subject).
