Four of the rank first in five areas: Eulogio Oset (Nuclear Physics), Eugenio Coronado (Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry), Antonio Pellicer (Reproductive Biology and Obstetrics and Gynecology as well) and Alicia Salvador (Psychobiology). By areas of knowledge, the largest number of specialists corresponds to Health Sciences (18), Technology, Engineering and Applied Sciences (6), Biology (5) and Chemistry (3).

The DIH group database contain information on 2,380 specialists working in Spain, who appear in the rankings of 166 research areas. The h Index detects the experts who receive the most citations in seven knowledge areas: Biology, Health Sciences, Earth Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, as well as Technology, Engineering and Applied Sciences. This classification is based on the average h Factor (Fh), or relationship between the h Index of each researcher and the average value of the h of other authors who are in the ranking of their area, from the ISI Web of Science database on scientific publications.

As of July 15, eleven UV researchers Rank second in thirteen areas. According to the h Factor (Fh), they are, classified from the highest to the lowest factor, Eugenio Coronado (Multidisciplinary Chemistry), Gustau Camps Valls (Electrical and Electronic Engineering, also in Remote Sensing, as well as in Image Sciences and Photographic Technology), Miguel Julve and Francesc Lloret (Chemistry) and Artemi Cerdà (Soil Sciences). This classification is completed by Andrés Moya (Genetics), Carlos Simón (Reproductive Biology, as well as Obstetrics and Gynecology), José Vicente Castell (Toxicology), Santiago Mas (Parasitology), José María Peiró (Applied Psychology) and Álvaro Luis Peña (Biodiversity Conservation).
