The University of Valencia increases the number of citations of its researchers in Google Scholar by 20.41% in the last year

The University of Valencia (UV) is the third Spanish higher education centre and the first Valencian one according to the latest update of the Transparent Ranking: Top Universities by Citations in Top Google Scholar, a classification that measures the number of citations in Google Scholar of the scientific articles from 4,361 higher education centres around the world and where the Valencian institution has gone from 1,699,948 appointments in 2022, to 2,047,064 in 2023, 20.41% more.

Thus, the University of Valencia has improved its world position and goes from 187 to 180, while at a European level it also advances and reaches position 55 (from 57). In Spain, the UV is the third one that receives the most citations, a site that maintains the last three editions of this ranking.

On a Valencian scale, the UV is the centre with the most citations in Google Scholar of the articles of its researchers, the Polytechnic University is the second one (world position number 329) and the University of Alicante, the third (in world position 438). At the Spanish level, only the University of Barcelona and the Complutense University of Madrid surpass the Valencian institution.
