The UV begins to lend legal assistance to the university community affected by the DANA

The Legal Clinic for Social Justice from the Faculty of Law from the Universitat de València started on Wednesday, 13 November the free assistance and advice service for the university community affected (students, Technical, Process, Administration and Services Staff, Teaching and Research Staff and Research Staff on Training) and their relatives of first degree.

The free service offered by the Legal Clinic for Social Justice from the Faculty of Law from the Universitat de València takes different aspects related to legal information, process, advice and accompanying.
In particular, the next services to the university community and their relatives of first degree will be freely given:

  • Give general information about their rights as affected people victim to the DANA in many aspects: helps, loans, grants, damage claims and insurance, job matters (firing and decommissioning), renegotiation of rent contracts, civil matters (inheritance of a deceased relative), among others.
  • Offering specific information and clarifying any juridical terms, as well as helping consulting the mandatory requirements to request for helps, among others.
  • Spread and disseminate all measures adopted by the State, the Government of the Valencian Community, the Provincial Council, and the City Councils.
  • Accompany, online, in the realized procedures.
  • Help completing the documentation or administrative procedures required.
  • Derivate to other entities, specialized and professional services, if necessary when there’s no capacity to assist the set out consult.

A team of more than 200 volunteers

This advice service is possible thanks to the work done by the direction of the members of the Legal Clinic UV, as well as for the volunteer team.
In total, more than 200 people, among students, professors and jurists, all of them from the Faculty of Law from the Universitat de València, and lawyers from different Spanish professional schools.

The Legal Clinic

The Legal Clinic for Social Justice from the Faculty of Law from the Universitat de València is a promotion space of excellence in the training of Degree and Postgraduate Education, in which students lend their free and non-profit advice to NGO, non-profit entities and people without economic resources or in risk of social exclusion, under the supervision of professors and linked professionals from the University. It is codirected by the professors Pilar Fernández Artiach and Andrés Gascón Cuenca.
