The UV Cinema Club initiates a new edition of the Pla de Formació Contínua en Cinema i Audiovisual

TheUV Cinema Clubinitiates a new edition of the PECA (Pla d’Especialització en Cinema i Audiovisual), a proposal of on-going training addressed to people interested in broadening their training in the cinematographic and audiovisual field.

After the great reception of the last call, and under the high demand registered last year, the PECA reinforces this time its training offer with five specialised courses linked to two training itineraries: cinematographic direction and cinematographic production. The courses will be taught, for the second time, as university micro-credentials, a format that enables independent trainings and, at the same time, the progressive advance in a more comprehensive specialisation path.

The programme combines a practical guidance with the participation of professors from the Universitat de València and active professionals in the cinematographic sector, in which there are scriptwriters, producers and directors. The objective is to offer specific tools for the development of audiovisual projects, from writing to documentary research to production, founding, and filming organisation.

The itinerary of Specialisation in cinematographic direction includes three university micro-credentials. The first one, “Documentary narratives and cinematographic research techniques”, is going to take place from 15 to 26 June, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. It will be lectured by Marcos Centeno and Laura García Andreu. Subsequently, from 29 June to 10 July, “Cinematographic script of fictional projects” will be offered, with Isadora Guardia and Rafa Ferrero as teaching staff. Finally, from 13 to 24 July, “Inclusion in the audiovisual media. Access and equality in cinema from the script to the screen” will be presented, lectured by Rosanna Mestre and Miquel Àngel Font.

Regarding the itinerary of Specialisation in cinematographic production, the PECA will offer two courses. “The role of the cinematographic producer – from the idea to pitching” will take place from 7 to 18 September, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, with Yolanda Cabrera and Lorena Torres as teachers. Finally, from 28 September to 8 October, “From the direction of production to filming. Founding and organisation in the film-industry”, lectured by Jordi Revert and Mila Luengo, will be presented.

All courses will take place at La Nau Cultural Centre and will have a duration of 30 hours and a price of 30 euros for registering. The courses can be taken independently and can also be integrated in two complete micro-credentials linked to itineraries of cinematographic direction and production.

With this call, the PECA continues structuring a progressive training plan, with the intention of incorporating new courses in future editions to complete the specialisation itineraries in cinematographic direction and production.
