The UV has been awarded for favouring the social and labour inclusion of people with Down syndrome

Social and labour inclusion of people with Down syndrome

The Universitat de València receives on Friday an award of the Asindown Foundation as a corporate partner which favours the labour and social inclusion of people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. The vice-principal for Teaching Staff, Academic Planning and Sustainability, Maria Vicenta Mestre, will attend the ceremony, which will start at 10:30 at the Cultural Centre La Beneficiencia, and will collect the award.

Enric Morera, president of the Valencian Parliament; Enric Nomdedeu, the Regional Secretary and Maria del Mar Galcerán, president of Asindown will take part in the ceremony. The deputy general director of Divina Pastora Seguros, Pilar Nieto, will also take part in the award ceremony.  The award ceremony takes place on the basis of the internship at companies; the stable and quality recruitment; and the promotion, dissemination and funding of the principles and projects of the Asindown Foundation.

In this way, the UV will receive different awards according to this classification. Apart from the Office of the Principal, the University-Business Foundation Adeit, the Unit for the Integration of People with Disabilities, the Lluís Alcanyís Foundation of the UV, the University of Valencia Science Park Foundation, the Humanities Library and the University of Valencia General Foundation will also be awarded.

Asindown has as its main objective to improve the quality of life of the members and to favour their inclusion and participation as full citizens through the promotion of resources and support for research and their personal, social, educational and work development.
