With the arrival of March, the University of Valencia has competed in the first of the tournaments of the Spanish University Champion (CEU), the cross-country race organized by the University of Valladolid in Soria from March 10 to 11. The race was held in the Cross Country circuit in Monte Valonsadero in Soria. A total of eight students will participate representing UV.

The championship brought togheter the best students of Spain in the discipline of Cross Country in the circuit of Soria, which is part of the International Cross of Soria. The day was affected by the cold and wind that prevailed during the whole race.
The women's race was the first of the events that took place. It was a soliloquy of 'the orange athletes' of the UV, since from the initial shot  Raquel Echevarría, Nara Elipe and Ainhoa Martín marched in the leading group, and only in the last lap Nara and Ainhoa were discarded, Raquel continued to fight until the last meters for the podium positions. Meanwhile, behind Andrea Romero, recovering from an injury, went from back to front and was recovering positions in a masterful way and extending the advantage at the finish line. Thanks to the teamwork of the 4 components, the UV came to take 37 points ahead of the powerful UCAM, which for the first time was not the winning university, this time was the UV which became not only the first public university in Spain, but in the best university in Women's category.

In the Men's category, Miguel Angel Chazarra, who started as one of the main favourites, made a great race, staying until the end with options to enter the podium. He finished fourth, althought he was overtaken by another competitor at the finishing mat. The rest of the team made a great competition, but the high level of the participants made it impossible to reach the podium, closing the performance of the UV with an excellent 4th place, less than 12 points behind the runners-up.
