The UV offers the authorities the facilities, equipment, and staff of the Faculties of Health Sciences

In light of the declaration of the state of emergency in Spain on 14 March, the Principal of the Universitat de València offered the President of the Valencian government the university facilities, equipment, and collaboration on the part of the professionals working at the Faculties who teach and carry out research in the field of health sciences.

During a public meeting on 13 March 2020, the President of the Government announced that the Minister Council, gathered on 14 March, should declare the state of emergency in Spain for a period of 15 days.

In this extraordinary situation, the Board of Directors of the Universitat de València signaled of its availability to the government authorities and make a contribution to the efforts against this unprecedent global emergency situation requiring collaboration and responsability of the public institutions and the citizenship.

In agreement with the offices of the dean of the Health Sciences Faculties of our university (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing and Chiropody, and Faculty of Physiotherapy) which have the necessary sanitary equipment, the Principal of the Universitat de València, María Vicenta Mestre, offered the President of the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana), Ximo Puig, the university staff with sufficient expertise in this area as well as the facilities of these faculties with wheelchairs and stretchers which form a part of the equipment used in training of future healthcare professionals. In addition, the classrooms and parking spaces of all campuses of the Universitat de València (Blasco Ibáñez, Burjassot-Paterna, and Tarongers) were made available.
