From 20th to 23rd July two events related to the book’s world, which are organised by the Association of Sardinian Publishers (AES), take place at Alghero: 'Lo Quarter del Llibre' and 'Liber Liber’ are two important initiatives for the promotion of the book and reading. The Association of Publishers of the Valencian Country, in which Maite Simon who is the publisher of the UV Publications Service, takes part, has travelled there.

'Lo Quarter del Llibre’  has these days a stage of the circuit dedicated to the cultural diversity, the language and the island’s imaginary promoted by the Department of Culture. The initiative is complemented with presentations of publisher news, workshops, artistic and gastronomic representation, and it will be the framework of the books exhibition conducted by the Sardinian publishing houses.

'Liber Liber' is an international project designed by the Sardinian publishers Association as a part of the unified 2014-2020 programme, whose objective is to promote the internationalisation and the competitiveness of the Sardinian independent publishing houses and the promotion of the island’s culture and language among the EU’s countries.

This is a parallel project to the one that is being conducted by the Association of Publishers of the Valencian Country, Literary Market Europa Creativa, in which the UV Publications Service has taken part in order to delve into the promotion of the internalisation of the UV publishing fund. Due to this project, representatives of the publishing house have attended meetings in Vilnius and Torino.

The Archaeological Museum of Alghero is the place where the meetings dedicated to the international negotiation between the local and foreign representatives will take place. The aim is to stablish contacts and professional exchanges between the Sardinian and the foreign publishing houses.
