The UV, second in Spain in terms of presence in the media

The Universitat de València is the second university in Spain in terms of presence in the media and the first in terms of contribution to information in the media. This is evidenced by the study on media reputation presented by AUGAC, the association of communication offices of universities and research centres in Spain.

An average audience of more than 13 million people, a strong national presence and 99.15% of positive or neutral news are the results of the presence of the Universitat de València in the media.

These data come from the study on competitive intelligence presented by AUGAC, the association of communication offices and research centres in Spain, which commissioned the consultancy firm CECUBO to carry out an analysis of the media reputation of Spanish universities.

The study has analysed more than 13,000 news items published in 34 national and 27 regional media, in which the presence of 73 Spanish universities and research centres has been identified.

The study analysed the rating, presence in headlines and reputation analysis categories.

The results of this study place the Universitat de València as the second university in Spain in terms of volume and presence in the media, behind the Complutense University of Madrid, being the only one of the Valencian universities to be in the top 10 positions in this ranking.

In terms of the different categories analysed, in terms of contribution to information in the media, the Universitat de València ranks first in Spain, behind the Complutense University, repeating this position in topics related to the academic offer, talent, employability and work, and innovation.

UV, in leading positions

The Universitat de València is one of the leading universities in Spain in terms of volume of studies, leader in Europe in receiving international students, especially Erasmus students, and stands out for its 25 international double degree programmes.

It also stands out for the academic performance of its student body, with drop-out rates well below the average for the Spanish university system and a graduation and suitability rate (percentage of students who complete their degree within the theoretical time frame or earlier) that is much higher than the average data for the Spanish public university system.

Likewise, in terms of scientific production, the weight of the Universitat de València is much higher than that of the institution in the Valencian public university system: the UV generates 40.8% of the total scientific production, and these documents receive 51.8% of the total citations received by Valencian public universities.

These data place the Universitat de València as the first of the Valencian universities, and in positions ranging between 3 and 5 in Spain according to the different rankings.

In addition, in five areas of knowledge, the UV is positioned among the 100 best in the world, according to the Shanghai ranking. You can check this information in Uvnews by clicking here.
