The UV Agroecological Market is moving to the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences (Blasco Ibáñez Av., 30) every Friday from 10 am to 2 pm from April the 29th until the summer.

The centre has offered its space to host the market for the next few months, in order to facilitate access for all users, and also to give it greater visibility from Blasco Ibáñez. The decision was taken due to the works at the Lluís Vives Hall of Residence, the Faculty of Psychology and the Dental Clinic, which made difficult for people to access the market.

The Agroecological Market of the Universitat de València offers products from the orchards of Valencia, oil, bread, cakes and organic spreads, and every fourteen days we are accompanied by a Fair Trade stall.

The Agroecological Market prioritises local products with a social and solidarity approach.  The projects participating in the market have the traditional organic seal of the Organic Farming Committee or the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) seal.

The PGS is a local participatory certification system that is becoming more and more widespread and accepted in some municipal markets in Valencia. In this way, priority is given to local, seasonal products that involve people in the pursuit of food sovereignty. In addition, the identity of the Agroecological Market is defined using key concepts such as: awareness, proximity, openness, multiplier effect, balance and visibility.

This initiative is part of the aspiration to encourage reflection towards changes in eating habits towards healthier and more sustainable ways of eating.
