The president of the Club, Ramiro Verdejo, and the Rector of the Universitat de València, Mª Vicenta Mestre, have signed the agreement. The agreement makes it possible to carry out educational and research cooperation projects and programmes.

The president of the Valencia Tennis Club, Ramiro Verdejo, and the rector of the Universitat de València, Mª Vicenta Mestre, have signed a collaboration agreement for the promotion and encouragement of tennis.

It will be valid for four years and will be developed through specific agreements in areas such as research and development projects and programmes, cooperation in the training of research and technical personnel, advice, the organisation of activities related to the promotion of tennis or educational cooperation.

Likewise, one of the areas of collaboration will be the BBVA Open City of València, which will be the subject of undergraduate and master's degrees for students from the Facultad of Physucal Activity and Sports Science and other faculties, as well as research projects in the field of tennis.

The Valencia Tennis Club will offer discounts to university students to attend the BBVA Open City of València, and will hold a conference at the Universitat related to tennis sporting events.

Ramiro Verdejo, president of the Valencia Tennis Club, considers that the agreement "between two of the most historic institutions in the city constitutes a reciprocal opportunity, since the human capital and research capacity of the Universitat offers tennis the possibility of progressing and improving, while the València Tennis Club constitutes an attractive destination for analysis and study for the members of the Universitat".

The President stressed the importance of this agreement because it allows collaboration with a leading organization of Valencian society, the Valencia Tennis Club, to work together different aspects of the university: teaching, knowledge transfer, sports practice and also access to activities of the Tennis Club in better conditions for the university community.

Rector Mª Vicenta Mestre thanked the Tennis Club for its close collaboration with the Universitat de València, strengthened by this agreement.
