All the details about the project and this year tour have been presented in a press conference that took place at La Nau and had the participation of the Vice-Principals Antonio Ariño (Culture and Sport), the Culture deputy of the Valencian Council, Xavier Rius, and the co-director of Escena Erasmus, Anna Marí.

La Gran Final is a piece of theatre played by 16 actors and actresses from 11 different nationalities (Poland, Germany, Cameroon, Gambia, Italy, Syria, Slovakia, France, Switzerland , Colombia and Spain). They will demonstrate that they can work together on the stage despite their differences. According to Anna Marí, “La gran final” (the big final), is the last part of the Trilogy of Migrations about migrations that Erasmus Scene began with the ‘Circus of the boundaries’ and the ‘Invisible festival’. It is a key spectacle of comedy set in 2038.  The European football team participate for the first time in the big final of a World Cup. Against this background, Erasmus Scene imagines the EU that we will be able to create.

Antonio Ariño as well as the deputy of the Valencian Council Xavier Rius have expressed “great satisfaction” that supposes for both institutions to support a project that is notable for its “cultural uniqueness”. Along these lines, the vice-principal added that Erasmus Scene of the Universitat de València “is an example of cultural and social mediation of Europe that we want”.

Incorporation of refugees people to the spectacle has been possible thanks to the fact that Erasmus Scene, through the General Foundation of the University, has been distinguished in the last call of grants Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The same action of incorporating refugees to the spectacles will be moved to the Erasmus Scene groups of the universities of Padua (Italy) and Marburg (Germany) coordinated by the Universitat de València. For the selection of four refugees actors of this staging, Erasmus Scene has signed a cooperation agreement with the headquarters of CEAR-PV (Spanish Commission for Refugee Assistance- País Valencià).

“Las Pequeñas Europas” (The little Europes) is a cultural programme launched by Erasmus Scene (Vice-principal of Culture and Sports, and Office of the Vice-Principal for International Relations and Cooperation) and the Culture Area of the Valencian Provincial Council with the support of the General Foundation of the Universitat de València to establish bridges of dialog between the local Valencian realities and European cities represented by the actors. Apart from the theatre, at the different municipalities there are activities organised in order to strengthen the intercultural encounter and the reflection on the way of being European with different local collectives. The tour is sponsored by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Society of the Universitat de València and the collaboration of the SGAE Foundation, IVAJ and CEAR-PV.

The show will be performed at 13 towns and cities at the province of Valencia: Alaquàs, Bonrepòs i Mirambell, Chella, Alcúdia de Crespins, Almoines, Yátova, Salem, Benifaió, Caudete de las Fuentes, Carrícola, Ontinyent y Gandia.

The spectacle is lead by Anna Marí with written texts on purpose to distinguish dramatists of the Valencian scene: Guadalupe Sáez, Mafalda Bellido, Maribel Bayona, Javier Sahuquillo, Adrián Novella y Daniel Tormo.
