The laws that regulate these studies state that you must have a C1 level of Spanish and Catalan and a B1 level of a foreign language before graduation. At the University of Valencia, students can choose either English or French.

Students must also complete compulsory professional internships during almost eight months, and are distributed throughout the first, third and fourth academic years. These internships are done in schools within the Valencian education system during the periods and timetables established by the corresponding authorities. This requirement makes it impossible for students to study part-time.

The Degree in Primary School Education and the Degree in Preschool Education share 13 subjects that are worth 84 shared credits in total. This makes studying both degrees easier.

This degree is also given in the private affiliated Florida University Education Centre.
