Print design

This activity is related to the previous proposal of the EASD and the Faculty as the creation of a brand identity linked to the Silk Road project (notebooks, portfolios, etc. of congresses and seminars, as well as other proposals that join the initiative).  Creation of a original cloth print from Valencian medieval texts with references to the silk trade.

The calligraphic design will be made by students of the Drawing and Calligraphy subject (taught by the professor Nieves Torralba) working with Gothic writing. It will be possible to translate these texts into Chinese calligraphy.

The printing will be done in the subject Digital Printing Techniques (taught by the professor Dolors Pons) and always in terms of sustainability criteria.  To do so, we have the collaboration of José Martínez Escutia (professor of Design Techniques and Materials).

The objects’ design will take place in the subjects of the Fashion Project of the 2nd course (taught by the professor Mª José Andrés) and Accessories of the 3rd course (taught by the professor Mª José Blasco).

The printing will be done in the subject Digital Printing Techniques (taught by the professor Dolors Pons) and always in terms of sustainability criteria.  To do so, we have the collaboration of José Martínez Escutia (professor of Design Techniques and Materials).

The presented prototypes will be at the disposal of a jury that will chose three models to produce them. Likewise, these prototypes will be exposed in an exhibition and a a commemorative book-object of the whole process will be edited.
