X-th European Conference ENOP 2007 on Organizational Psychology and Human Service Work
«Work and Organizational Psychology in Human Services Organizations: Different European Perspectives»
October, 3 - 6, 2007
Kyiv, Ukraine
Background
Working life in Europe is changing rapidly, also as far as human service work is concerned. To provide an arena for analyses and discussions of these developments, the European Network of Organizational Psychology (ENOP) initiated in 1985 a series of conferences on Work and Organizational Psychology. Originally these conferences focussed solely on health care, but later they developed into the broader field of human service work.
Previous conferences
Since the first conference in Cardiff (1985), conferences took place in Valencia (1990), Krakow (1993), Munich (1995), Utrecht (1997), Ghent (1999), Stockholm (2001), Vienna (2003), Dresden (2005) and resulted in several publications (books and special issues).
Conference theme
The conference focuses on Work and Organizational Psychology in human service work and includes issues such as work overload, job control, autonomy, social leadership, skills development, team work, burnout, social support, commitment and engagement. These issues are approached from various European perspectives. It is the first time that the Conference from the series "Organizational Psychology and Human Service Work" is taking place in a CIS country, and therefore particular attention will be paid to bridging and promoting the East-West cooperation in research and practice.
