Mahbub Alam, Secretary (International Deptt) Bangladesh Trade Union kendra
(National Center), Manzurul Ahsan Khan, President, and Bhusan Ghos, General
Secretary Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation, Abdur Rauf Mia,
President, and Abdul Wadud Nayan, General Secretary Bangladesh Road Transport
Workers Union, in a press statement on 14.1.97 expressed full solidaring to
the striking workers of South Korea and demanded immediate repeal of black
laws conspiratorially passed in parliament. The TU.leaders demanded
withdrawal of ban and restrictions of Korean Trade Union and said there
cannot be meaningfull and humane development by encroaching upon worker
rights.
Bank workers braught out a demonstration in Dhaka in support of Korean
workers.

SKOP (United Council of Workers and Employees),
consisting of all the 18 national T.U centers in Bangladesh in a statement on 20.1.97 strongly condemned the imposition of black laws against South Korean workers,arrest of leaders,repressions and violation human rights. Expresing solidarity with Korean workers SKOP demanded repeal of black laws withdrawal of ban on Trade Union and realisation of workers demand. The state was signed by Abbas Salam Khan ,Aabul bashar, Nurul Islam, Abdulla Sarkar,Nazrul Islam Khan,Iqbal Mojumdar,Majibur Rahman Bhuian, Dr. Wazedul Islam Khan, M.A.Gafur,Mamunur Rashid Choudhury,Abdul Wahed,Golam Mahmood and others .
