Congratulations, best wishes to the Congo

A message has been sent to the new government of the Democratic
Republic of the Congo by the Communist Party of Australia.

It expressed "enthusiastic congratulations and best wishes on the
final liberation of the whole country, including the capital city
of Kinshasa. We join the celebrations on the overthrow of the
Mobutu dictatorship which has for 30 years exploited, oppressed
and humilitated the people with the active support of various
imperialist countries.

"We are confident that the victory of the democratic forces, led
by Laurent Kabila, will lead to a new life and the fulfillment of
the long held demands of the people for a society which will
bring education, health care, housing, useful work, rising living
standards and the participation of the people in social life.

"Your victory not only opens a new era for the Congolese people
but is also a major step in the removal of imperialist domination
and their dreadful legacy from the whole continent of Africa.

"We salute your victory. Please accept our congratulations and
best wishes for the future happiness of the Congolese people."

The message was signed by CPA General Secretary, Peter Symon.
