LOS EFECTOS
DE LA TELEVISIÓN. SOBRE EL VOTO EN ITALIA: 1994-1999
M. Roccato y S. Gattino
ABSTRACT

Italian elections in the year between 1994 and 1999. They show that in Italy
there is a strong association between television preferences and political
preferences. They also show that in that period the television has been able to
modify the voting behavior of
millions of people. We discuss Italy’s specificity, with reference to Mr Berlusconi’s
double leadership in the political and in the television sectors,
and the efficacy of the measures used to limit its distortions.

LA PSICOLOGÍA SOCIAL Y LA PSICOLOGÍA POLÍTICA
LATINOAMERICANA: AYER Y HOY
ABSTRACT
In this paper is analysed the
influence of Social Psychology on the emergence of Political Psychology in
Latin America. This review takes into account both the different dominant
psychological paradigms and the convergence of several political and
economical elements of the 70s. These two factors made possible the emergence
of a Political Psychology with its own characteristics in Latin America. Today
Latin American Political Psychology is faced to European and North American
paradigms in a similar way to that in which three decades ago Social
Psychology did.
Key words: political psychology,

eran activistas políticos y 100 no pertenecían a ninguna asociación
político-social.

belongings. The investigated variables concern self and group representation
(investigated by a set of differential semantic scales), self-esteem and Locus
of Control. Then a qualitative investigation has been led on 14 activists interviewed
about the meanings of their belonging. We have conducted a content analysis and
a discourse analysis. The results show differences between activists and

ABSTRACT
In front of the
structural changes the world lives, that force to an industrial and also social
and labour re-conversion, the countries of Latin America -among other
countries of the world periphery-, instead of betting to the invigoration of
the educational and scientific-technological system, to favour its insert
progressively in the new world dynamics, they maintain the state of growing
weakness of these sectors which constitute motors of change and development,
allowing the subordination of the peoples to its own destination. The
University and the scientific institutions, on the other hand, nothing makes to
generate changes, allowing the charismatic political leaders to continue
driving the peoples, instead of generating from these institutions, rational
rules of development and of change.
