The Subfossil Cladocera Workshop has been held yearly since 1999 when Atte Korhola organized the first workshop in Helsinki. It is an informal gathering of people who are working on subfossil remains of Cladocera in lake sediments. It has been mainly focused on taxonomical questions and people have brought problematic or amazing findings for the others to see, admire and identify. Teaching has also been one of the aims; several beginners have learned to identify their first remains during the workshops. Year 2004 was the first with informal presentations.
