The enigma of Mexican folklore figures in Valencian porcelain (in pdf)

It's still a mystery. Since the middle of the 20th century, many Valencian porcelain brands included among its figures those of Mexican folklore types, children, men and women, in various postures and with various accessories.

Nalda, Inglés, Lladró, Nadal, Pal, Santa Rufina... exhibit among their works surprising figures in the Valencian context, whose existence would require sociological explanations that we still lack.

Exporting to Mexico could be one of them, but secondary markets and Mexican art portals do not include examples of them.

Until the mystery finds a solution, the work allows, at least, to enjoy the images of the figures that we have found, of uneven quality although notable as examples of the perception of the topic in the work of Valencian sculptors and painters from various artistic schools.
