Black Holes and Loop Quantum Gravity Workshop

Joaquín Olivert Pellicer (Cullera, 1941)
Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Valencia

Joaquín Olivert Pellicer was born in Cullera (Valencia, Spain) on the 18th of June of 1941. He obtained his degree in Physics at the Universidad de Valencia, in which he has been teaching since 1969. His research has been mainly focused on the field of mathematics applied to Relativity. He has published works on the relativistic incompressibility and rigidity, and he introduced the concept of seeded fiber bundles for the study of relativistic motion conserving discrete physical magnitudes. He has been advisor of 9 Ph.D. thesis (2 in physics and 7 in mathematics) and he is author of the book "Algebra Lineal" published by the Universidad de Valencia.

Currently, he is the advisor of a Ph.D. thesis on Black Hole Entropy in Loop Quantum Gravity and he was the first faculty member supporting the study of Loop Quantum Gravity in Valencia. The celebration of this workshop is, thus, due in a big part to his pioneering support.
