Statistical analyses using R (2 DAYS: 26 and 27)

Join this special and unique opportunity to learn about relevant statistical analyses with the guidance from Oscar Skovdahl, visiting PhD student from Oslo University, in collaboration with the ERI-Lectura team.

The workshop will take place during November 26 and 27th, from 10:00 to 14:00h in the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy (exact room to be determined).

The topics of the workshop will be decided by ✨you✨

When registering, we will ask you about your interest on 3 topics that will be more or less covered in the workshop.The 3 topics are:

  • Structural equation modelling (Factor analyses, mediation, moderation and longitudinal analyses)

  • Linear and logistic regression (basics) and mixed-effects

  • Item response theory

R (R studio) will be used in the practical part of this workshop (it is an open-soruce software, which means you can use it for free). For more information about R studio and how to download it you can visit their official website.

ABOUT OSCAR:

Oscar Skovdahl is a PhD-candidate at the Department of Special Needs Education at the University of Oslo. His expertise lies in statistics and educational assessments. His educational background is in educational measurement and psychology, and he has previously worked as a statistical advisor for the Directorate of Education and Training in Norway. His research interests include digital reading, educational and cognitive psychology (especially reading comprehension and reading difficulties, educational assessments, as well as methodology, psychometrics and statistical modelling.

WORKSHOP CERTIFICATION:

You will receive a certificate of attendance that you can use for your academic merits. For those PhD students in the “Lectura y Comprensión” program, this workshop will be recognized as part of the Specific activities regarding Statistical Training.
