Valentine’s Lab: Find Your New Co-Author
This event is strictly for research purposes only. No romantic entanglements guaranteed — though if you end up co-authoring a paper, we won’t judge. This Valentine’s Day, we’re swapping roses for research proposals and chocolate hearts for collaborative hypotheses.
- 🗓 Date: February 12th (2026)
- 📍 Location: Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy (room to be determined)
- 🕒 Time: 9:30 to 11:30h aprox.
What is this event about? Tired of solo research? Lonely in the lab? Dreaming of a co-author who actually responds to emails? Welcome to Valentine’s Lab: Find Your New Co-Author — a speed-dating-style mixer where PhDs, postdocs, and early-career researchers pitch their projects, meet potential collaborators, and maybe even find their “research soulmate.”
💘 How It Works You will get 3 minutes to charm your partner with your research — no awkward silences, no forced small talk, just pure academic flirtation and getting to know new people:
Minute 1: Pitch your project like you’re pitching to a grant panel… but with more heart.
Minutes 2–3: Chat, ask questions, and see if your research vibes align.
Then… SWAP! Rotate to your next “date” — because in science, you don’t settle until you find the right synergy.
(Yes, we’ll provide “Love Notes” — tiny cards to scribble contact info and interest)
❤️ Why Attend? - Meet potential co-authors — no awkward first dates, just first collaborations
Sharpen your pitch — practice makes perfect (and fundable)
Escape the solo grind — research is better with friends (or at least collaborators)
Indulge in Valentine’s treats — chocolates, heart-shaped snacks, and zero pressure to be “in a relationship” (unless you count your thesis as your partner) ☕🍫🍬🍪
